Unresponsiveness

A state in which the immune system fails to mount a protective or damaging response to an antigen, despite prior exposure. This condition can be induced experimentally or occur naturally, representing a form of immunological tolerance. It is a key mechanism in preventing autoimmune diseases and in the success of organ transplantation.
