Obstructive hydrocephalus
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008176
A condition characterized by an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the brain's ventricles due to a blockage in the normal CSF flow pathways. This obstruction prevents the fluid from circulating and being absorbed, leading to increased intracranial pressure and potential brain damage. Common causes include tumors, congenital malformations, or inflammation within the ventricular system.
