Ventriculogram
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012545
An X-ray image of the brain's ventricular system produced after the injection of a contrast agent directly into the cerebrospinal fluid. This diagnostic imaging procedure outlines the size, shape, and patency of the ventricles and cerebral aqueducts. It is used to detect obstructions, tumors, or congenital malformations like hydrocephalus, which can be relevant in neurotoxicological assessments of structural brain damage.
