Hydranencephaly
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005446
A rare congenital condition in which the cerebral hemispheres are absent or severely reduced and replaced by cerebrospinal fluid. This neurological disorder results from a disruption of blood supply to the brain during fetal development. Infants with hydranencephaly often have a normal skull size and reflexes at birth, but severe developmental delays become apparent.
