Occupied band
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008187
An energy band in a solid material, such as a polymer, where electrons are present and fill the available energy states up to a certain energy level. In semiconductors and insulators, the highest occupied band is the valence band. Electrons in this band are typically involved in chemical bonding.
