Ohmic contact
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008205
An electrical junction between two materials, such as a metal and a semiconductor, that exhibits a linear and symmetric current-voltage (I-V) characteristic. This type of contact has negligible resistance to current flow in either direction, regardless of voltage polarity. An ideal ohmic contact does not limit device performance and is distinct from a rectifying Schottky barrier.
