Contact sensitivity

A delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction of the immune system that occurs after direct skin exposure to a specific allergen. This immune response leads to inflammation and skin lesions at the site of contact. The reaction typically develops 24 to 72 hours after exposure and is mediated by T-lymphocytes.
