Onycholysis

The detachment of a nail from its nail bed, starting at the distal or lateral free edge and progressing proximally. This condition can result from trauma, fungal infections, psoriasis, or exposure to certain chemicals or medications. It is a common dermatological finding and can affect fingernails or toenails.
