Oxonium ylides
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008406
Dipolar chemical species in which a negatively charged carbon atom (a carbanion) is directly attached to a positively charged trivalent oxygen atom (an oxonium center). These are 1,2-dipolar species with the general structure R2O+-C-R'2. Oxonium ylides are highly reactive intermediates and are isomeric with the corresponding ethers.
