Oxygen-flask combustion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008407
A sample decomposition method for organic materials in which the sample is burned in a closed flask filled with oxygen and the combustion products are absorbed into a solution held in the same flask. The analytes are then determined in that solution. It is applied to elements that form volatile species, such as halogens, sulfur and phosphorus, in solid or liquid samples.
