Perineum

The surface region in both males and females between the pubic symphysis and the coccyx. Anatomically, it is the diamond-shaped area inferior to the pelvic diaphragm, bounded anteriorly by the pubic arch, posteriorly by the tip of the coccyx, and laterally by the ischial tuberosities. This region contains the external genitalia and the anus.
