Permanent modifier

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008665

A chemical substance added to the graphite furnace in electrothermal atomic absorption spectroscopy to alter the matrix and improve the analytical signal. These modifiers are designed to remain stable at high temperatures, preventing analyte loss or interference during the atomization process. Examples include palladium and iridium, which form stable compounds with many analytes.
