Pheochromocytoma
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008763
A rare tumor that develops in the adrenal medulla, leading to the overproduction of catecholamines, primarily epinephrine and norepinephrine. This excess hormone release can cause symptoms such as high blood pressure, headaches, sweating, and palpitations. Diagnosis involves measuring catecholamine levels in blood or urine, and surgical removal is the primary treatment.
