Adrenalin
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000275
A hormone and neurotransmitter, also known as epinephrine, released by the adrenal medulla and certain neurons in response to stress. It acts on adrenergic receptors throughout the body, triggering the 'fight-or-flight' response by increasing heart rate, blood pressure, and glucose levels. Its chemical formula is C9H13NO3, and it is synthesized from the amino acids phenylalanine and tyrosine.
