Photoadsorption photonic yield
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008801
The ratio of the maximal, usually initial, rate of photoadsorption of an entity on a surface to the incident photon flux at a given wavelength, with both rates measured under otherwise identical conditions. Because it is referred to incident rather than absorbed photons, it is lower than the photoadsorption quantum yield. The word yield implies monochromatic irradiation, whereas efficiency is used for a band of wavelengths.
