Photoadsorption quantum yield
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008802
The number of molecules of a substance that are photoadsorbed onto a surface, divided by the number of photons absorbed by the photocatalyst during the same time interval. This dimensionless quantity represents the intrinsic efficiency of the photoadsorption process, relating the number of successful adsorption events to the actual amount of light energy absorbed by the material. Its value is always less than or equal to one for a single-photon process.
