Plasma termination
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009018
The process by which a plasma ceases to exist, typically involving the recombination of ions and electrons to form neutral atoms or molecules. This can occur due to cooling, diffusion of charged particles out of the plasma volume, or a reduction in the energy input sustaining the plasma. The rate of termination depends on factors such as gas pressure, temperature, and the presence of recombination surfaces.
