Plasmablast

An activated B lymphocyte that is undergoing rapid proliferation and differentiation into a plasma cell. Plasmablasts are characterized by their ability to secrete antibodies, though typically at lower rates than mature plasma cells, and their continued capacity for cell division. They represent an intermediate stage in the B cell differentiation pathway.
