Reaction stage
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013481
A conceptual division of a reaction mechanism that involves at least one reaction intermediate. It represents the transformation occurring between two successive intermediates, or between a reactant and an intermediate, or between an intermediate and a final product. A reaction stage may consist of a single elementary reaction step or a sequence of multiple steps that are not experimentally separable.
