Population critical concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009268
The level of a toxicant in the target organ that a stated fraction of an exposed population has reached when each member first shows the adverse effect concerned. Individuals differ in their own threshold concentrations, so the population value is given as a percentile, written PCC-10 for 10 percent or PCC-50 for the median, in the same way that LD50 denotes the median lethal dose.
