Primary sample

A portion of material taken directly from a larger quantity, such as a batch, lot, or environment, at a specific time or location. This initial sample is collected without any prior mixing or processing of the source material. It serves as the starting point for all subsequent analytical steps, including subsampling and preparation for analysis.
