Pulse duration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009671

The time interval during which a potential or current pulse is applied to the working electrode in pulse polarography and other pulsed electroanalytical techniques. This parameter, along with the pulse amplitude and frequency, determines the electrochemical response of the analyte. In normal pulse polarography, the pulse duration is typically kept constant at a value between 50 and 100 milliseconds for each drop of the mercury electrode.
