Describing a biological response that is all-or-none in nature, meaning it either occurs or does not occur in an individual organism. This type of response does not exhibit a continuous range of effects but rather a binary outcome. Examples include death, seizure, or the presence of a specific tumor, where the individual either shows the effect or does not.
