Concentration-effect relationship

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002366

The association between the concentration of a substance to which an organism or biological system is exposed and the magnitude of a specific, continuous biological effect. This relationship is often depicted graphically as a curve, showing how the response intensity changes as the concentration of the xenobiotic increases. The relationship is distinct from the concentration-response relationship, which deals with the proportion of a population showing a quantal (all-or-none) effect.
