Quantitative polymerase chain reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009750
A molecular biology technique that measures the amplification of a targeted DNA molecule in real-time during the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This method allows for the quantification of specific DNA or RNA sequences in a sample. The results are typically expressed as a cycle threshold (Ct) value, inversely proportional to the initial amount of target nucleic acid.
