Real-time polymerase chain reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009996
A molecular biology technique that monitors the amplification of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) during the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in real time. This method quantifies the initial amount of DNA by measuring fluorescence emitted during each cycle. The results are expressed as a cycle threshold (Ct) value.
