Relative viscosity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010166
The ratio of the viscosity of a polymer solution to the viscosity of the pure solvent at the same temperature and pressure. This dimensionless quantity provides a measure of the increase in viscosity due to the presence of the polymer. It is often denoted by the symbol ηr or ηrel.
