Reverse immunology
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010313
A strategy for finding T-cell epitopes that starts from a protein or gene sequence rather than from T cells with a known response. Peptides are scored with algorithms that predict binding to a chosen MHC molecule, and the best candidates are then synthesized and tested for recognition by T cells. It has been applied to tumor antigens and to vaccine design.
