Reversible network
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010323
A polymer network in which the cross-links connecting the polymer chains are dynamic and not permanent. These non-covalent or reversible covalent bonds break and reform under specific conditions, such as changes in temperature, pH, or light exposure. The dissociation and reformation of these cross-links impart properties like self-healing, reprocessability, and responsiveness to external stimuli to the material.
