Rhodamine dyes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010342
A family of fluorescent organic dyes belonging to the xanthene class, characterized by a xanthene core with two amino groups and a carboxylic acid or ester group. These dyes are known for their high fluorescence quantum yields and strong absorption in the visible light spectrum, typically emitting in the green to red region. Rhodamine B and Rhodamine 6G are widely used in microscopy, laser dyes, and as fluorescent labels.
