Rostral

Describing a direction toward the front of the body or the head, or a structure situated closer to the head within the central nervous system. This anatomical orientation is particularly relevant when discussing the development and organization of the brain and spinal cord. It contrasts with caudal, which indicates a direction toward the tail or posterior end.
