Rotating disc electrode
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010415
An electrode consisting of a conductive disk embedded in an insulating cylinder, which is rotated at a controlled speed in an electrolyte solution. The rotation creates a well-defined hydrodynamic flow pattern that allows for precise control over mass transport to the electrode surface. This electrode configuration is widely used in electroanalytical chemistry for studying reaction kinetics and mechanisms.
