Shallow trap
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010796
A localized energy state within a material that can temporarily capture charge carriers, such as electrons or holes, but from which they can easily escape due to thermal energy. These traps are characterized by a relatively small energy difference from the conduction or valence band. They can influence the electrical conductivity and luminescence properties of semiconductors.
