Shellfish poisoning

A group of illnesses caused by consuming shellfish that have accumulated toxins produced by certain marine algae. These toxins are not harmful to the shellfish but can cause neurological, gastrointestinal, or other symptoms in humans. Specific types include paralytic, neurotoxic, amnesic, and diarrhetic shellfish poisoning.
