Silyl groups
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010868
Functional groups derived from silane (SiH4) by the removal of one or more hydrogen atoms. The simplest silyl group is the silyl group itself (-SiH3), but more complex forms involve organic substituents attached to the silicon atom. These groups are frequently encountered in organosilicon chemistry.
