Somatotropin

A peptide hormone produced and secreted by the anterior pituitary gland, responsible for stimulating growth, cell reproduction, and regeneration in humans and other animals. This hormone acts on many tissues throughout the body to promote protein synthesis and fat breakdown. Human somatotropin is also known as growth hormone (GH).
