Spin crossover
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011199
A phenomenon observed in certain transition metal complexes where the spin state of the metal ion changes reversibly between a low-spin and a high-spin configuration. This change is typically induced by external stimuli such as temperature, pressure, or light. Spin crossover materials have potential applications in molecular switches and data storage.
