Stable ion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011266
An ion that possesses a relatively long lifetime under specific experimental conditions, allowing for its detection and characterization. This stability can arise from factors such as resonance stabilization, delocalization of charge, or the absence of readily available reaction pathways. The concept of stability is relative and depends on the timescale of observation.
