Star copolymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011316
A star-shaped macromolecule in which arms that differ in constitution or configuration are joined through a central moiety, for example a star with some polystyrene arms and some polyisoprene arms. The arms themselves are usually homopolymer chains, so the copolymer character comes from combining unlike arms and not from mixed arms. A star whose arms are all identical is a regular star macromolecule instead.
