Stereoselective synthesis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011385
A chemical reaction or sequence of reactions that produces a predominant amount of one stereoisomer over others from a non-stereoisomeric or achiral starting material. This type of synthesis aims to control the formation of new stereogenic centers or the configuration of existing ones. Asymmetric synthesis is a specific type of stereoselective synthesis that produces enantiomers in unequal amounts.
