Sweat
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011710
A hypotonic aqueous solution secreted by sweat glands, primarily composed of water, electrolytes, and metabolic waste products. It serves as a thermoregulatory mechanism to cool the body through evaporation. The composition of sweat can reflect physiological states and is analyzed in bioanalytical methods for biomarkers.
