Symmetrization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011726
A data processing procedure applied to two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (2D NMR) spectra to improve their appearance and remove artifacts. The process forces the spectrum to be symmetrical with respect to its main diagonal (for homonuclear correlation spectra) or another axis of symmetry. This is achieved by replacing the intensity at points (F1, F2) and (F2, F1) with their minimum, maximum, or average value.
