Top-down proteomics
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012109
A strategy in proteomics that involves the analysis of intact proteins without prior proteolytic digestion. This approach directly measures the mass and sequence of whole proteins, providing information on post-translational modifications and protein isoforms. It typically requires high-resolution mass spectrometry for accurate characterization of large biomolecules.
