Triage

The process of sorting and prioritizing patients or casualties based on the urgency and type of care needed, especially in a mass casualty incident or when resources are limited. This system classifies individuals into categories to direct medical attention and resources to those who will benefit most. Common triage categories include immediate (red), delayed (yellow), minimal (green), and expectant (black).
