Triplet-triplet energy transfer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012297
A non-radiative process where excitation energy is transferred from a donor molecule in its triplet excited state to an acceptor molecule, which is then promoted to its triplet excited state. This transfer typically occurs via an exchange mechanism, requiring close proximity between the donor and acceptor. The spin conservation rule dictates that the overall spin angular momentum of the system remains unchanged during the transfer.
