Triplet-triplet transitions
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012298
The spin-allowed electronic transitions between two different triplet states of a molecule. These transitions occur when a molecule already in an excited triplet state (T1) absorbs a photon, promoting it to a higher energy triplet state (Tn). Triplet-triplet absorption is a technique used to measure the properties and kinetics of triplet states, as the ground state (S0) to triplet state (T1) transition is spin-forbidden.
