v-ion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012584
A fragment ion carrying the C-terminal part of a protonated peptide, formed in high-energy collisions, that corresponds to a y-ion whose N-terminal residue has lost its side chain. The loss leaves an H2N+=CH-CO- end structure. It belongs to the side-chain cleavage ions seen in high-energy collision-induced dissociation, together with d-ions and w-ions.
