Blow

To expel water and impurities from a ship's boiler system in a process known as a blowdown. This procedure removes sludge and dissolved solids that accumulate during steam generation, preventing corrosion and scale buildup. The blowdown is performed by opening valves at the bottom or surface of the boiler, with the frequency determined by water quality tests.
