Peloid

A spherical or ovoid grain composed of micritic carbonate, lacking internal structure, found in carbonate rocks. These grains form through the aggregation of fine carbonate mud or by the alteration of skeletal fragments. Peloids are common constituents of limestones and dolomites, often indicating shallow marine depositional environments.
