Demurrer

A legal pleading in a lawsuit that admits the facts as stated by the opposing party but argues that those facts are insufficient to establish a legal claim or defense. In essence, it challenges the legal sufficiency of the complaint or answer. If a demurrer is sustained, the case or a portion of it may be dismissed.
